  • 12 Ounces Fresh Cranberries
  • 2 Oranges
  • 1 Tbsp. Finely Chopped Ginger or Ginger Ale
  • 275-300 ml Water
  • 150-200 gms. Sugar
  • Optional: Cinnamon, Cardamom, Walnuts, Almonds or any other ingredient you want to add as per your taste.
  • Zest From One Orange.
  • A Pinch Of Salt And Pepper.

  1. Peel both the oranges with a sharp knife or peeler. Remove all the white pith.
  2. Cut the orange into slices and juice them out fully.
  3. Strain the juice to remove any seeds and fibres.
  4. Chop any dry fruits if you want to add in the Sauce.
  5. Mix the spices like salt, pepper, cinnamon and cardamom. It is totally optional and depends on you to omit or add it.
  6. Rinse the cranberries and pick out any damaged or bruised ones.
  7. Pour the water in a saucepan and add the sugar. Bring the mixture to boil, stirring regularly to dissolve the sugar.
  8. Add the Cranberries, Orange Juice and Ginger. Bring the mixture to boil and cook till the Cranberries pop.
  9. Now turn the heat to low and cook till you reach the desired consistency, stirring continuously.
  10. Add the spices if you have decided to add any of them. Stir the mixture well.
  11. If you want the Cranberries whole, cook for a few more minutes. If you want the Cranberries crushed and dissolved, cook for at least 10 more minutes.

Now that you have reached your desired Sauce consistency, remove the pan from the heat. Let the Sauce cool down completely on room temperature. Now, transfer the Sauce to a bowl and let it chill in the fridge. The Sauce will thicken more as it gradually cools down.
